yeah..i'm finished

overall I think the program was fantastic...i wish we could have had a computer lab type explore/walkthrough for when we get stuck and maybe it wouldn't have been as frustrating at times. I think it exposed me to some things I will continue to use and others that I will never use again but either way at least I'm now making an informed decision about what I like and don't.I also thought it was an excellent idea to have the information/tech class before we started..made it so it wasn't as scary to navigate...I would like to thank all of those who put the program together and managed it..it was evident in the content they put a lot of hard work and time into the program...thanks again 5 out of 5 ravens heads CALL CALL!

audio books

I have found out that it is not as easy at it always seems..tried to get audio book from guttenberg..then it told me it needed a number for the plucker converter?/robot bouncer..needless to say I didn't care for this feature as much...it acted like it was going to download it and then it told me I didn't have the right program to run it.

pod casts

looked at some of the podcast sights, and have had some experience viewing them before but never actually done one myself...tried to link one to my bloglines and said their was no rss feed even though I know their should be...will try again later

you tube

never really been on you-tube before......I like all of the stuff it has to offer, however not for my children...I wonder that since it seems to me no one monitors the site for contents or posts why we expect are children to interact with/ or speak to adults or peers differently than they do when this is one of the most popular sites in the country. I was asked to stop and sign up/login to view a particular site and verify that i am 18...I didn't go any further but I also wonder what their version of verification is.

craigs list

I chose this as my winner for awards list...I love scouring the classifieds for deals or yard sales, but alot of the time it's get rich quick stuff or things that don't promise what they deliver....this seems like a more reliable source of classifieds not to mention it's up to date and continually changing...don't have to wait for the paper to come

google docs

I probably like this the best of all the practical features..I often run in to problems sharing docs with my mom since she has a mac....we can exchange info easily between our computers without some forthought that we will be sharing info. much easier now I give a 4 out of 5 raven calls ;)

wiki

Already familiar with wikis...think its a fantastic tool to keep you up on the latest "anything" and like that you can add or change content as you like

web 2.0/library 2.0

you tube movie was interesting..i've always thought that the internet keeps people from interacting with one another...when actually it just lets you interact in a different way. Some prefer it..some don't. I also think that if libraries are going to continue pressing forward with library 2.0 their must be a serious, specific talk about what you can and can't access within the library. you have to walk a fine line between progress and the current and previous perception of what the library means

Technorati

excellent search tool just for the shear number of people that go on the site.I will definately be using it from now on.I also liked the "top hits" section...Knew most of the current stories but helped to clue me in to ones i missed.

delicious

Didn't care for this at all..links didn't always work....by the time you get there, you could have looked it up yourself

rolly-o

I liked this search engine tool alot...it only looks in the areas that I tell it to. That way I'm not getting results from sites that bore me or link me to unwanted searches.

Library things

library things is cool..i found a book by dean koontz searching amazon that hasn't been published..neat you can connect with people that like the same thing. this would be good for keeping trap of all the books i read..i find myself often repeating books that i have read.not anymore

Picture changer

just finished with the picture changer...cool for those that have a digital camera..since i don't i had to use other people's pictures to edit..not as much fun....also avatars are used all the time on my poker website..i don't have one right now, but maybe in the future

71/2 habits

I initially just wrote down on paper what I thought was the most important part of learning ..which I lost..so I watched the tutorial a second time and here I am finally putting my thoughts in my blog a little in reverse but never to late....the most important thing I've learned is to be persistent by believing that you can be a successful learner.....If you believe you can do it; you can.Just like if you believe you can't do it; you won't.

technology

I found that i really like to blog..it gives me an outlet to talk about whatever I want, however getting to this point wasn't as easy as your led to believe if your going in cold..week 4 here i come

In what turned out to be a real nail-biter despite the massive 6 turnovers(no that's not a typo) by the ravens we had a chance to tie it up at the end of the game. With a little less than 2 minutes left in the game, todd heap caught a touchdown pass in the back of the endzone that was called back on a phantom flag thrown by the back judge for offensive pass interference. The ref then tried to redeem himself by throwing a flag on a questionable hold to give the ravens a fresh set of downs. In what would be a much debated decision to continually pass; even though a mere two yards out; the ravens luck eventually ran out with a touchdown pass dropped by heap, and intercepted by a diving bengal. The positive to take from this game is that even with all the adversity faced during the game the team came together for a stellar performance of heart if not technically sound. We have also put not just the bengals; but all of the AFC north; on notice. If you don't knock us out we just keep hitting.Hard.

Notable injuries for the ravens include B.J sams out for season(knee), john ogden unknown return(toe), ray lewis unknown return(shoulder), and steve mcnair day to day (groin).

My player of the game: samari rolle, he really stepped up his first game and played with an intensity and passion that most thought wasn't apparent last season.
